Funeral Notice

 

Mr. Richard Terrell McCray, 63, of Auburn (formerly LaFayette) died Saturday, February 06, 2021 at Magnolia Haven Health & Rehabilitation Center, Tuskegee.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Vines Funeral Home Chapel in LaFayette at 1:00 p.m. (CST) with Rev. Melvin Owens officiating.  The remains will lie in state at the chapel from 12:00 p.m. (CST) until the funeral hour.

Mr. McCray grew up in LaFayette where he accepted Christ at an early age.  Mr. McCray graduated from LaFayette High School in 1975 and then joined the United States Marine Corps, serving four years.  After being honorably discharged, he returned home and attended Southern Union State Community College, Opelika. Mr. McCray was employed by Ampex Corporation, Opelika. He was later employed by Uniroyal Goodrich as a Tire Assembly Operator. He  retired in 2009 wth twenty-four years of service.

Mr. McCray is survived by his wife: Jeanette McCray,Auburn; two daughters: D’Shundra and Eneika McCray, Birmingham; one stepson: Damarius (Janell) Studdard, Birmingham; two sisters: Barbara Dowdy, Auburn and Regina McCray, Valley; one brother: Tydious D. (LaGale) McCray, Columbus, Georgia; mother-in-law: Kate “Mama-Kate” Studdard, Auburn; three sisters-in-law: Myra (Tony) Easley, Atoska (Jimmie) Gentry and Felicia (Terry) Walker all of Auburn; brother-in-law: Lezander Studdard, Auburn; four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
