Mrs. Linda Gail Wilkes

Funeral Notice

 

Mrs. Linda Gail Wilkes, 64, of Wadley died Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at East Alabama Medical Center. Opelika. Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Wadley at 1:00 p.m. (CST) with Pastor William Russell & Pastor Tom Staples officiating. The interment was in the church cemetery.
 
Mrs. Wilkes was born March 9, 1960 to the late Willie Young & Gladys Mae Hardnett Staples. She acknowledged God as a child and became a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Wadley.  She worked for many years at Terry Manufacturing and Jac Products where she was a shift leader.  
 
Mrs. Wilkes is survived by one son: Deron (Amber) Spraddling, Wadley; seven grandchildren: Amya, Damarious, Demon, Javion, Hannah, Harmony and Dreyson all of Wadley; three brothers: Calvin (Hazel) Staples, Tommy (Terita) Staples both of Roanoke and Robert Staples, Wadley; two sisters: Mary Jean Staples, Lineville and Shirley (Walter) McKenzie, Talladega; four aunts: Pauline Walker-Brown, Jamaica Queens, NY, Mable Nkanta, Roanoke, Rebecca Jean Threats, Pell City and Ida Maude Thomas, Decatur, GA; one uncle: Vernon Hardnett, Roanoke; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

So sorry to hear about Lynn. She was a wonderful person. When we lived in around Wadley. We use to see her in town and talked for a while. She is our neighbor Calvin sister. We grow up visiting each other when peoples was around Wadley. You all continue to hold onto Gods hands. Your angel still watches over you. May sister Linda (Lynn) rest in peace.

You all are in our thoughts and prayers. We all have to go this same way one day. Home to Heaven. Continue to lean on the Lord to help you through this difficult time. There is no sorrow that God can't heal. Your angel is still watching over you. So continue to hold onto God powerful hands and everything will be all right. Rest in peace our friend, mom, aunt and more. Sister Lynn as we call her.
