Funeral Notice

 

Mrs. Nancy Huguley, 98, of West Point, GA died Friday, June 7, 2024, in Auburn, AL. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at New Zion Baptist Church, Lanett, AL at 12:00 p.m. (EST) with Pastor Willie C. Atkinson & Dr. Stanley Calloway officiating.  The remains will lie in state at the church from 11:00 a.m. (EST) until the funeral hour. The interment will be in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be Friday, June 14, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (EST) at Vines Funeral Home.
 
Mrs. Nancy Huguley, affectionately called “Mama Nancy”, was born June 25, 1925, in Chambers County.  Mama Nancy was one of eight siblings, all of whom preceded her in death.  She was married to the late Willie C. Huguley for 54 years.  To this union, one daughter was born, Rena Elizabeth Huguley.  Mama Nancy was a faithful member of New Zion Baptist Church, Lanett where she served on the Deaconess Board, as Missionary & Pastor’s Aide President, and on many other committees where needed. She had a love for ALL people and was a community prayer warrior, calling on “Kind Master, Kind Master!”  Mama Nancy was employed by the Tallapoosa/Chambers County Headstart Organizations for over 20 years.
 
Mama Nancy is survived by a devoted daughter: Rena Elizabeth (Woodrow) Fisher, Auburn; two loving grandchildren:  Teresa Michelle (Lino) Ortiz, Auburn and Christopher L. Johnson Jr., Panama City, FL; two great grandsons, Jayden Martinez and Gael Ortiz, both of Auburn; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
