Obituary If I walk in the Pathway of Duty and work till the Close of Day, I shall see the Great King in His Beauty, When I’ve gone the Last Mile of the Way.
Saquanna Ikea Allen, the daughter of George Allen and Cynthia Marshall, was born on July 13, 1984. Thirty-eight-year-old Saquanna was born, raised, and resided in Valley, Alabama. There she attended Chambers County Public Schools and is a 2003 graduate of Valley High School. In 2010, Saquanna earned her Associate of Science in Office Management from Southern Union State Community College. Later, she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Grand Canyon University. Saquanna served as an educator in various capacities, including substitute teacher, paraprofessional, and teacher. She had an extraordinary gift to impact the lives of students with unique challenges and disabilities. In 2022, she was named Davis Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year and was chosen to serve as an Instructional Coach for MGM LEAPS. Ms. Allen believed every child deserved a champion and became that for every child she encountered. Saquanna Allen, often referred to as Sister Q, loved the Lord with all her heart. At an early age, she confessed her life to Christ at Rehoboth Missionary Baptist Church. In her continued walk of faith, she became an avid member and minister at New Life Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Teddy Reece. There she served as the pastor’s administrative assistant, Bible Study teacher, and Sunday School teacher. Minster Allen was known for always stepping up to the call of duty, leaving no task undone. The measure of her greatness was truly in how she served others. Saquanna never hesitated to pray, inspire, or encourage others with God’s holy words. Minister Saquanna Allen indeed made a difference and labored much of her time being a missionary in action.  Saquanna was a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, but one of her greatest joys was being a mother to her one and only son, Zalarriaus Turner. In her very own words, she wrote, “I want you to know that I love you so much and that I’m proud of the young man that you have become. I love your smile, your laugh, your drive, and your determination to succeed in school, and that you do. You light up my life and bring me so much joy. You remind me daily just how good God has been to me.”  On June 14, 2023, God transitioned his angel, Saquanna Ikea Allen, one of his personal favorites. It can fervently be known that she fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept her faith. Her beautiful life will always be adored by all who knew her.
