The Mount Olive Baptist Church of Washington DC would like extend to the family of Bro Jerry Lewis Vines our heartfelt condolences on the transitioning of your husband, brother, father, relative and friend. While we recognize the reality of his absence we know that our Jesus said, that in my fathers house are many mansions; if it were not so; I would have told you. That Jesus said, I go to prepare a place for you that you may be with me also. I am the way the truth and the life for no one comes to the Father but by me. Finally, we know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We thank God, that Brother Jerry is gone, but will never be forgotten. He was loved, admired and respected. May he rest in peace and sweet repose with his creator. Thus, we do not say good bye, only see you later in the sweet by and by.

I will miss Mr Vines.. He was always nice to me. He always made me laugh when he and Ms Nell came to the office. He always seemed to be in good cheer even when he wasn’t feeling well. My deepest condolences to the family of Mr Vines. I will continue to pray for strength for the family during this difficult time. Elaine Kendrick

Big Baby!!! I can’t ..... I just can’t ! I was on my way but I turned around because I don’t want to see you this way. I know your not in anymore pain, and now you can walk around Heaven all day with mom and your dad. Some people won’t understand but it’s not for them to understand my decision. You were the only one who ever understood my decisions. I love you and rest easy my big baby and my big brother
