Mrs. Willa Dean Allen Jenkins

Funeral Notice

 

Mrs. Willa Dean Allen Jenkins, 84, of Wadley died Monday, March 12, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at  Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church, Wadley on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. (CST) with Rev. Thomas Knight officiating. Interment will be in the Rocky Mount Church Cemetery, Alexander City.  The remains will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m.(CST) until the funeral hour.  Public viewing will be at Vines Funeral Home, Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. (CST).

Mrs. Jenkins was born December 17, 1933 in Wadley to the late Walter and Amanda Allen.  She was the third of ten childen. She late became a member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church.  Mrs. Jenkins attended several school in Randolph county before finishing high school.  In December 1954, she married the later Alvin Davis Jenkins.  She was a devoted homemaker and wife and enjoyed traveling with her husband.  They made Baltimore, Maryland their home for over fifty years.   She was employed with Continental Plastics as a supervisor for several years and later retired. Mrs. Jenkins worshipped at several different churches in Baltimore over the years; however, her heart always belonged to Bethelehem. After the death of her husband in 2011, Mrs. Jenkins moved back to Wadley to be near her family and her church.

Mrs. Jenkins  is survived by four sisters: Martha Houston, Chicago, Ill, Ethel Patton, Decatur, GA, Carolyn Stewart, Atlanta, GA and Rosie Clark, Wadley; seven sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, a special nephew and caregiver, Malcolm Clark and Rose Marie Crenshaw and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,  and friends.

Please accept my sympathy, may the God of love comfort you during this time of sorrow. He is the God of all comfort. God's word the bible gives a wonderful hope for dead loved ones.
