Funeral Notice

 

Mr. Perry Lee Ramsey, Sr.,  63, of Valley died Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at St. James Baptist Church, Lanett on Monday,  May 15, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. (EST) with Rev. Wayne Booker officiating. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Lanett. The remains will lie in state at the church from 12:00 p.m. (EST) until the funeral hour.

Mr. Ramsey was born to the late Willie E. Ramsey, Sr. and the late Gladys Trammell Ramsey on October 20, 1953 in Lanett, AL.   He was the youngest of three siblings. Mr. Ramsey was a long time member of St. James Baptist Church, Lanett.  He became an entrepreneur at an early age.  He was the founder of several businesses which included, Ramsey Roofing, Light’s Club and a convenience store. Mr. Ramsey was loved and respected by many in his community and by his devoted family.

Mr. Ramsey is survived by his fiancé : Estella Arrington, Tuskegee; his daughter: C. Michelle (Ronnie) Tucker, Lanett; four sons: Perry J. (Michelle) Jones, Lanett, Perry R. (Sonya) Ramsey, Jr, LaGrange, GA, Derrick Ramsey and Bernard Ramsey both of Whitesville, GA ; two sisters: Marlene (Jerrell) Boone Winston, LaGrange, GA, and Gladys R. (Alvin) Zanders, Lanett; two special nephews: Alvin (Jamese) Zanders, Houston, TX and Eric R. (Nichole) Zanders, Montgomery; three nephews, Manfreda (Dana) Ramsey, Valley, Hope Ramsey, and Willie Ramsey III, Lanett; one special cousin, Shawn Ramsey, Lanett; eleven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
