I don't know how to say goodbye to my cousin, Jim Frank. As far back as I can remember, he was hanging with his Uncle Jack (my dad). Now they are together again. I hold tight to the memories of a wonderful, loving man.

ANGELA DARLENE POLLARD
To my great grandmother's nephew, rest in peace. I had the opportunity to speak to Jim years ago regarding our family history. He was a beautiful soul to talk to just like my great grandmother. I enjoyed his endearing words when he spoke of my great grandma Arlene Thomas. To the Hughes family, may your sorrows be lifted in this time of mourning. Respectfully, Angela

I will miss my dear friend. I was truly honored to stay with his Mom, when he attended the Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama,he said;a big part of history,to witness, there was so much excitement being in his presence with all the sharing, caring and intelligence and at times really bad jokes, to know him was to love him. Rest In Paradise my friend. GW

Mr Jim Frank was one of the greatest men we knew. I had the opportunity to Pastor him for 15 yrs at the New Harmony Baptist Church. We had the pleasure of eating from his garden and off of his grill and listening to his jokes. He will be missed. Our prayers and condolences to the family

I represent my Uncle Dr. Maxie Jackson who is a good friend of Jim Hugh’s! Jim and Maxie were fellow church members of Mask Memorial CME church in Lansing Michigan. Mr Hughes also took care of Maxie’s lawn for many years. Helped plant a backyard garden and taught Maxie how to smoke various meats. He was a great friend and called Maxie often up until his passing. Our sincerest condolences to Joe, Jim’s siblings and family.

SHARON GRIFFIN
Mr. Hughes and the family were a blessing to the church, Mask Memorial CME, and me when they lived in Lansing, MI. They were so hospitalable. They graciously gave vegetables from the garden and meat from the smoker! Love and prayers to the family!

I just wanted to say that Jim was truly a distinguished gentleman as far as we are concerned. He was diverse in his interests and focused on succeeding in whatever he started. His humor was always welcomed and made you hinge on the edge of your seat until the punch line...We adopted him as an Honorary Uncle and addressed him as such. "Unc you will be forever forged into our hearts...I pray to see you again in the hereafter...R.I.P

Mr. Hughes was a very busy person, if he wasn't preparing his garden, he was smoking meat on his grill or smoker. While in Michigan, he was very active in Sunday School at Mask Memorial CME Church in Lansing, Michigan. Mr. Hughes was always very friendly and a for real person. Anyone who met him couldn't help but enjoy being in his presence and he will be missed.
