Funeral Notice
Ms. Barbara (Short Cake) Calloway Ashford, 53, of LaFayette died Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at White Hall Baptist Church, LaFayette at 12:00 p.m. (CST) with Pastor Ed Vines officiating. Interment will be at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, LaFayette. The remains will lie in state at the church from 11: 00 a.m. (CST) until the funeral hour. Public viewing will be on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (CST) at Vines Funeral Home.
Ms. Ashford is survived by three sons: Quentavious Calloway, Auburn; Christopher (Ashley) Ashford, Tallassee; and Brandon (Kay) Ashford, Valley; five grandchildren: Brantley, Kington, Kaleigh, Jordan and Christian; one brother: Ocie (Bridgette) Calloway, Montgomery; one sister: Kimberly (Eddie) Mackey, LaFayette; best friend: Dennis Satterwhite: and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
