Funeral Notice

 

Mr. Roosevelt Staples, 76, of Wadley died Friday, September 18, 2015 at Roanoke Healthcare Center, Roanoke. Funeral services will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Wadley on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 1: 00 p.m. (CST) with Rev. Cornelius Reese officiating. The remains will lie instate at the church one hour before the service.  Interment will be in Providence cemetery, Milltown.  Public viewing of the remains will be at Vines Funeral Home on Tuesday, September  22, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (CST).


Mr. Staples is survived by his devoted wife: Clemedean Staples, Wadley; a step-daughter, Lolitha White, Chesapeake, VA; two sisters: Jean Threatt, Pell City, AL and Ida Mauda Thomas, Atlanta, GA; five sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

I was saddened to learn of Moots passing. He was one of those people you thought of when Wadley, Alabama was mentioned. He will long be remembered as a part of Wadley. I am glad I knew him over the years and proud we called each other friends. So long,for now, until we meet again.

John 3:16,17. Whosoever believeth in Jesus should not perish, but have everlasting life. Brother staples is resting in God arms for eternally rest. He was a great neighbor . Loved all who meet him. We will miss him on this earth, but we know Heaven has gain another angel in the sky to make it a more beautiful place. Our thoughts and prayers are with our family. Rest in Peace Brother Moot.
